Obama Will Eject Agents and Punishable to Russia in Response to The Hacking of The U.S. Electoral System

The soap opera between United States and Russia still does not end, and today in new chapter, which is shaping up to be one of those who will have more impact, Barack Obama is announcing a series of penalties applicable to Russia, this response to the hacks used to infer past presidential elections, where the Republican Donald Trump was winning.

According to the document issued by the White House and signed by Barack Obama, starting today will be running a series of actions that seek to ‘punish the aggressive harassed’ by the Russian Government against U.S. officials, as well as cyber attacks directed at the country’s electoral system.

This is just the beginning

The sanctions include the immediate expulsion with Declaration of persona non grata 35 Russian intelligence agents they are currently working on U.S. soil, as well as fines, they do not specify what kind, to the two main intelligence services of Russia (FSB and GRU). Also apply sanctions to four individual officers of the GRU, three companies that supported with material for cyber operations, and two Russian citizens who used digital media to embezzle funds and falsifying personal information

In addition to this, the State Department will close two complex, one in New York and another in Maryland, which are used in tasks of Russian intelligence. Finally, the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have received the order of declassified technical information on the cyber activity of Russian civilian and military intelligence service, which will serve for any country to identify attacks, espionage or Russian occupation.

As you read in the press release, this is just the beginning, since in the coming days, without notice, take new “proportional” actions where many of them will not be posted, and which includes covert task of long-term, probably under technical Cybernetics, against Russia.

“These actions are due to repeated public and private warnings that we have issued to the Russian Government, and are a response to necessary and appropriate efforts to damage U.S. interests in violation of established international norms.”

In about three weeks, the Obama administration estimated publish a “joint analytical report” in collaboration between the FBI and the NSA, where will explain in detail some of the evidence collected from “implants” of Russian computer systems, conversations and spies. Much of is information only seeks to show evidence of the participation of the Russian attack on Government, since much of the information will be classified.

Part of these actions also seek to anticipate to Donald Trump, who next month will assume the role of President and who has rejected the participation of Russia in the attacks and hacks to the Democratic National Committee. So it will be interesting to see What is the reaction of Trump once you take control, as that throughout the country, and even the world, will be aware of this, as well as the reaction of the Congress where it wants to lift the sanctions, because there are also Republicans who supported action against Russia.

Anyway, this is just a first step in a battle between Russia and the United States that you cannot see will last little.

‘Lame Duck’

A few minutes that the White House issued the statement with sanctions for Russia, the Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom has responded with a meme through his Twitter account, calling ‘Lame duck’ (unsuccessful) to President Obama.
